Aspire is a thriving social enterprise that offers work experience and education to vulnerable and excluded individuals of working age. We are proud to say that we have been doing this successfully since 2001.
Our in-house social enterprises include refurbishment of computer hardware and recycling.
These operations offer experience in:-
- Warehousing
- Driving
- Testing
- Recycling
- Team work
- Health and safety
- Computer hardware repairs
- Software installation and configuration
- Retail and customer services
As well as integrating functional skills into the work experience, we also have a dedicated training room for portfolio work, computer based learning activities and assessment. This gives a quiet area for placements to work away from distractions.
Our primary focus is work based learning in waste electronic & electrical equipment recycling & refurbishment. Our work environment also provides learning opportunities to enhance interpersonal skills and develop skills in English, Maths and ICT.
We offer training and support from basic entry level up to level two which prepares placements for apprenticeships. Some candidates may be offered funded work placements at Aspire to help them to continue to develop.
Our training is inclusive and supports the individual’s learning needs where we are able to make reasonable adjustments. We have specialist training and software to help with some specific learning disabilities.
We have a team of friendly, welcoming staff and volunteers from diverse backgrounds who will encourage and support placements whilst they are with Aspire.
