What Is It?

Portable appliance testing is a process by which electrical appliances are routinely checked to see if they are safe to use.  When people (staff, volunteers, customers etc.) work with your electrical appliances Health & Safety regulations say the appliance must be safe.

Why Bother?

Health & Safety regulations aside, as a socially responsible and ethical company, we originally developed the PAT testing operation to safeguard our own staff and provide peace of mind for customers who were purchasing our previously owned electrical products.  It also knocked a few quid off our liability insurances!

We then began to get enquiries asking if we could provide PAT testing for external organisations (usually with very little cash to spare) and we discovered there was a niche in the market for quality low cost portable appliance testing.

Built on that early success we can now offer our friendly and experienced PAT testing services to other likeminded organisations at a fraction of the cost charged by other PAT companies.

Ok - How Much?

A different approach means we also charge differently and if you fall into one of these following categories (Social groups, charities, faith or community groups, small or start up businesses) you can enjoy our special rates.* (ask if you're not sure)

We charge for PAT testing by the day or half day - so if one or two "neighbours" wanted to club together to keep the costs down then that's fine by us!

Rates include full access to a qualified and experienced PAT tester, all local travel within Sheffield city boundaries, unlimited testing (during the timescale), insurances and preparation of the final certificate.  You can then choose to receive your certificate in a PDF format; a paper format or both.
